Moving into a House with a Collett Tank

February 22, 2023 / Back to Blog

If you are moving into a home that has a leased Collett tank, and that tank has received a gas delivery in the last couple of heating seasons, starting a new account is short and simple. Whether you are purchasing or renting that home, we’ll have you fill out the new customer package and pre-pay for your first fill and talk to you about our buying options that will best fit your budget. During your account set-up, we can go over the usage history of the prior home or business so you will have a better idea of what kind of expenses you might incur. This is also a good time to let us know if you plan to do any modifications that might increase usage, and if so, we can make sure your tank is appropriately sized.

Finally, most of the time site checks and/or gas checks are not required if the property is regularly using propane. However, if it has sat vacant for several heating seasons, we may need to do a gas check.
